coco de mer, Praslin

Last day at Praslin Fiona has arrange us taxi to take us to Park Ferdinand by Vallee de Mer. This is new park to make guided tours to see Coco de Mer. entree only 125/pp and kids were freeod charge. at big park entree is 25euros, and kids pays too. so again we saved more than 100euros. Good, he? Coco de Mer has biggest coconuts and is also highest palmtree in the world. you can find them only from this island and 2 other ones growing wild. all other places they are planted. Originally it's from Malediven, but there it doesn't exist anymore. This palm can become 500-600 years old, get his maturity at age of 25. There's female and male trees and fruit of male looks like male genitals and woman coconut is like woman's bud and other side woman's genital. very funny! local thinks than flowers of male gives them more potential and long life. coconuts can grow up until 25 kg. Until 7 years old they are eatable and very sweet, better than normal coconuts, after they getting dryer and bitter. Nowadays they allowed to sell to export only 1000 pieces per year. Price around 5000 rupias, almost 300euros. Was amazing to see. Guide told us also from other plants like vanilla and cinnamon. half away trail we had to turn back to be able to catch taxi on time to get to the ferry. sSme taxi took us back and for to get our luggages and stopping by bankautomaat, supermark and leaving us to ferry. We payd only 600 rupia, actually half price of normal. This all because he was a friend of Fiona. Ferry was half an hour late. No problem, there were taxi waiting for us at harber for fixed price, arramged by our next guesthouse. I requested it already in front. Relaxed way of travelling. Our next etap was Beau vallon bungalows, situated near beach, very quiet and clean place with big rooms. Not bad! we went to enjoy evening sun and cooling down at the beach. Today was hot day 31C . we could find delicious barbeque fish/meat/chicken with rise or frites only for 75rupia. something erlse than dinner at restaurant for 500 rupias. Kids went back to room and relax and we stayed for few drinks at beach bar. Finally relaxing. This day went with no problems. Happy for that!
